STD Question. Anxiety very high.

Hello im a 26 year old female. Married. Me and husband were in turmoil.but anyhow. I preformed oral sex WITH OUT EJACULATION with a guy i work with. He is married with a baby girl.I started getting amxious at 21days after the exposure and got a throat swab for gonoreah and chlamydia. It came back negative. Fast foward 4 months later i have this sore throat for 2 weeks. What are the chances that the results were false negatives? Can it be HIV? HELP PLEASE ( HE ALSO MENTION HE HAS BEEN TESTed SINCE HE BEEN WITH HIS WIFE AND FOR syphilis and gonoreah for IMMIGRATION PAPAER INTERVIEW which was 3 months before our exposure. Just alittle worry.

Your question has already been answered that what you describe is in no way a risk for HIV.

Hey guys... so i been wondering i don't know if the whole experience of getting a positive on the rapid test traumatized me. But when a person test positive on their rapid test what confirmatory test do they use? I get scared that they didnt use right one or its not accurate how does it work? My dr. Diagnosed me with vitamin d defiency which explains all the symptoms ive had over a year. But i get scared because i read hiv depletes vitamin d... ugh i know im crazy. And my husband has feet pain and eczema on his hand....

Im soooo scared please help me !!!!!! They drew blood but the anxiety is killing me !
This happened to me a
Month ago with the quick test. It was inconclusive. I went the next day to get blood drawn and waited a few hours for a same day result and got negative. I’m just waiting to follow up now

Im so scared im feeling so down and anxiety of waiting for the comformation my heart is beating so fast
Same thing happened to me. I tested right after then 28 days again and negative. Was your test a finger prick? I was told that those look for antibodies which can mean something else is going on
Yes a finger prick but the line was extremely faded so they drew blood and waiting on results
This was after 10 months after unprotected oral sex i gave my friend. He is married and his wife if currently pregnant and he has assured me three months before our encounter he had tested negative and has only been with his wife since he is a paranoid person too and has a you ger daughter
After our exposure i tested for gonoreah and chlamydia which were negative n Hiv negative 10 months later this happens...
And i believe he is a very truthful person .... very truthful tells it how it is and how he has always been careful and hasnt been with no one but his wife and our 1 encounter.
Hey there. You would not have caught HIV from this. Did you get updated test results?
I'm sorry I missed this earlier. I agree - there is no way you got HIV from this. I don't even know why you tested, but this has to be a false positive.
Hello guys so i tested negative!!! Thank you all so much xoxox
Congrats! I expected nothing else, but am very happy for you. Please stop testing and let this go now. :)

It is very unlikely that it's an STD. You already tested negative for those, and getting symptoms 4 months later would be really unusual. Your 21 day test would be conclusive.

What are the chances that you've been exposed to covid? Do you have allergies? Any other symptoms - fever? Aches? Could it be strep throat? Allergies?

A sore throat for 2 weeks deserves a trip to your doctor, for sure.

Hello thank you for answering❤ and. My sore throat has called down. I feel like its itchy tho. Still have like the cobble stone looking thraot . i mean i was diagnosed with Gerds last year and it started after drinking alot of coffee idk if i can be that since i been regurging alot maybe it irritated my throat. It feels lile itchy irritated no more sore pain though.
Calmed down*
No ulcers in mouth at all. Just the cobble stone look.
No fever. No aches whats so ever. Just like itchy throat and itchy ear feeling
That can definitely cause that feeling, and cobblestone throat, as well.

See your doctor to be sure, and if you are in a high Covid area, and you may have been exposed, talk to your doctor about that. It seems more likely to be GERD, but definitely check it out.
Yeah im in florida right now lol smh. And being indoors alot is driving me up the wall . reserching on google is no help. Ive called many places to make sure at 21 days the tests are conclusove and they keep repeating yes they are. I just get paranoid.
Lol I'm in a high covid place, too - I get it.

Gonorrhea and chlamydia tests are conclusive at 5 days. 21 days is more than enough time. :)

So is this guilt? Guilt doesn't equal risk. Anxiety doesn't trump science - your tests say you don't have it. That's what matters here.

Get some counseling if you need it to let go of this, or for your anxiety. Here are some things that may help:

Oh and HIV was never a risk from this. I should have said that from the start.
Hard times lol i do tend to over think alot. I feel like i was the chosen unlucky one to have that false negative test lol. I dont know why i do this to myself. and i guess it might be guilt amd the anxiety is probally flaring my gerd up too. And thank you so much for clarifying that for me. I guess the guilt of passing on something to my husband brings fear in the mind. Ive talked to my friend and he has been patient with me reassuring he is clean. But feels good hearing it from someone i dont know to help me look for that reassurance. So thank you for taking the time in answering my questions. Means alot in times like these.
You're welcome. :)

There's a lot you can be reassured by here.

Your oral sex partner has a baby girl. His wife was tested during her pregnancy. It was likely negative, but if it was positive, he's been treated and cured.

Oral sex is much less lower risk than vaginal or anal sex. This means your chances of getting something are much lower.

Chlamydia can occur in the throat, but it's much less frequent than gonorrhea. Gonorrhea, overall, is less common than chlamydia, making the chances of either unlikely.

Your sore throat is gone. If it was an STD, it wouldn't have cleared up like that.

You have negative tests.

So re-read this as often as you need to. Just try to trust the science, and remember that guilt doesn't equal risk. :)
You are absolutely right thank you soooooooooooo much! I just gotta work on my anxiety to get all better for good and leave it all behind!
:)

Don't hesitate to get counseling if you need it. Take care, and we're here if you have questions.
