Cough at night only?

*not covid related cough*
For the past three week I have this cough that only happens at night. Mainly when I'm laying down but also happens when I'm sitting up. I sometime get this urge to cough when I take in a deep breath but this is again only at night?

I do not cough during the day, I feel fine and I am fine. My biggest issue now is I am not getting any sleep because I am waking up to cough?

Oh my gosh, don't you love how we have to put 'not covid related'?  New era, right?!  So, cough is actually very common to come at night.  Were you sick prior and cough went away during the day but lingers at night? This is a common pattern actually. But many also have that night time dry cough. Read this article:   https://www.healthline.com/health/dry-cough-at-night  Suggestions to look into are asthma.  Gerd.  (very common to cause a cough and when you lay down.) a virus. Dry air if you use a furnace in your home (it's winter here, we turned ours on and it runs more now that the temp dips).  Does a humidifier help?
