What is the off-white tinge in my eyes?

I have an off-white tinge on the lower eyeballs of both eyes and it is spreading further up the eyes.
I have consulted a ophthalmologist about the matter and he told me that it is due to cholesterol and will not affect my vision.
I hope that you can give me a second opinion.
Thank you.
Regards,

What you are describing is called an corneal arcus, in the past called arcus senilis. It is cholesterol. In people younger than 60 it has a high correlation with elevated blood cholesterol and higher rates of heart disease. If you have not had your "Lipid profile" (measure cholesterol and triglycerides) in the last year that needs to be done.  Look at pictures of corneal arcus on the internet.
