Shear wave Elastography Ultrasound vs fibro scan

We are used to getting fibroscan every 6 months, however after moving provinces and waiting for a Hepatologist appointment which can be 6 month to a year, our GP has ordered a Shear Wave Elastrography Ultrasound instead.  Can anyone help me understand the differences between the two, should we go back and ask for a fibroscan instead?

Ultrasound every 6 months and fibroscan every year or 2.  If you can.  Ultra sound is far better indicator of HCC or cirrhosis.  I believe fibroscan only measures the kPa.

I've been on tenofovir for a year and my doctor did not check my liver for the past year and a half, just by fibroscan a year ago. I'll ask him to refer me at my next appointment.
Do you have a lower degree of risk while on nucs, I'm wondering why my doctor did not send me to an ultrasound yet?
