Pelvic inflammatory disease

I have been suffering with thigh pain since 10 days. I got diagnosed with pid. I started taking medication of doxycycline 100 mg bid and metrogyl 400 mg bid. I had sex with my partner on 2nd day of medication as I haven’t been informed about the abstinence. And my thigh pain did not improve. What should I do now? Should I continue the medication?
And also is the diagnosis of PID with free fluid in cul de sac on Usg always correct? As i do not have vaginal discharge at all. I only have pain in my right thigh region since 10 days .Could it be anything else?

Definitely continue your full course of medication regardless of sexual intercourse during if that is your concern. If you were swabbed, the swabs indicated the PID. That's hard to dispute.  I'd continue your medication and after 10 days, if you still have same symptoms, return for follow up. good luck

When you are seen by a doctor and the doctor prescribes medication, you are supposed to take it as directed, not stop taking it. If you think the doctor's diagnosis was wrong, call in and explain what makes you think that and get another appointment. Or, see a different doctor.
