Long covid question

Hello, I have been looking for answers for a long time. I had Covid last November. During the time I had it (12-14 days) I had shortness of breath, muscle aches all over, and loss of taste and smell. I’m sure I’m missing a few things!

Ever since, I got pain in my neck, back, legs severely and genital pain.

In April I began to have stinging pain, which eventually covered my whole body. Now I have full blown peripheral neuropathy all over. Very bad pain in my legs and tailbone area, blurred vision, and my body vibrates uncontrollably.

I’m 27 and was a bodybuilder until this started happening.

I’ve had every single test done that doctors could think of. Every blood test, mri, xrays, cat scans, ct scans, emgs etc. they’re finding nothing.

Has anyone had these symptoms? They can’t diagnose me.

If anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate it.

I have bad body aches - back, especially. My legs don't hurt like my back does, but if I do any kind of exercise, they just ache.

Are you still body building or lifting? One thing I keep reading is about how recovery time is really different for long covid patients. They compare it to fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue, where it can take days to recover from exertion - it's called post exertional malaise. That may be contributing for you.

With all the docs you've seen, have any been a neurologist? If you have PN, a neuro is a must.

I hope you find answers. I know you've been searching for a long time.

Thank you. We have spoke in the past. You’ve helped a bunch! I have seen every big name neurologists in my state almost. I am now waiting for a neurologist in Cleveland clinic. If that doesn’t help, I will be seeing Someone at Mayo Clinic. And so on.

You had covid in November and it sounds like an escalation of symptoms in April.  If you are vaccinated - when did you take your vaccinations?  I am suffering from severe neurological problems for the last year - which started a few weeks after my 1st  vaccination.  Seeing my third neurologist at present - still no diagnosis despite several MRIs, blood tests, lumber puncture etc.  I have never had  covid .  Is it possible that long covid in the case of people who have been vaccinated and also infected is due to vaccine damage and not the covid infection.  Just curious to know what your experience has been.  Hope you find some answers to your problems soon.

I did not receive the vaccine, however I did get the antibody injections.
I have neurological issues beyond just neuropathy as well. Unable to hold my bladder, and vision/mental blurriness  as well. No doctor has found anything with the testing for me either…
Have you read symptoms that Brianne Dressen experienced after starting up on the Astrazeneca trial - sound very similar to some of the symptoms you have mentioned.  She and a few others have set up a website called ReAct19.org - even though you didn't take the vaccine you might find a few interesting articles on the website.
No I have not! I will look into it! Thank you!
Thank you for that link.

When you say you were a bodybuilder, do you mean you just worked out a lot or do you mean one of those guys who competes and all? If the latter, did you take any supplements? And if so, have you looked up side effects? Some of the kinds of things bodybuilders take might have given you a bad reaction when combined with the kind of damage Covid can do to your body.

I was on several supplements and am now on testosterone replacement therapy. I do not know if it played a role in this. I am trying to get off of my supplements as we speak actually. So fingers crossed I begin to see some relief!
Well, if going off them makes a difference, that would sure be good news, so definitely keep us in the loop when you are able to quit, especially if you see a change in your symptoms.
Also, be sure to tell your doctor what you have been taking, even if it doesn't seem significant or it might seem embarrassing. They need to know the whole picture in order to properly diagnose you.
Thank you I definitely will!
