Recurrent sickness in 6 year old

My 6 year old was sick on Sunday night, and seemingly recovered and regained his appetite. Then sick again Tuesday night. Same again, seemed to recover apart from some diarrhoea. Today is Friday and he’s been sick again. Not complaining of being in pain (have considered appendix) and nothing else untoward that I can tell. Could this just be the same bug that’s working on him? They usually hit hard and clear up so this is unusual that he’s sick every few nights

While it could always be a bug, it could also be something like constipation. This can look different at different times. You can have diarrhea and still be constipated if your gi tract is slow moving. What are his bowel movements like?
