Update:
Just been today for contrast ultrasound, but they decided it's better to have an MRI scan instead of injecting contrast. possible to be an hemangioma. I'll keep you updated.
Hello everyone,
I just made some fresh blood test, among most important I got next results:
Liver:
ALT: 25 (=1)
Alkaline Phosphatase: 57 (40-150)
Gama Glutamyl T.: 16 (<55)
Albumin, Serum: 4.7 g/dl (3.5-5.2).
Protein Electrophoresis, Serum: all in normal range with A/G of 1.85
AFP: 1.83 Ng/ml (<7)
Complete Blood Count: all in normal range with platelet count of 257 thousand/μL (150-450).
Protein Total: 6.8 g/dl (6.4-8.3)
Hepatitis Be Antibody: Positive
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Antibody: negative
HIV-1/HIV-2 Antibodies: negative
Kidney:
Creatinine: 0.77 (0.72-1.25)
Glucose: 93 mg/dl
Urea: 29.96 mg/dl (<43)
Calcium, Magnesium: normal range
HDL: 47 mg/dl
LDL: 120 mg/dl (<100)!!
Now bad surprise came from IRON which came back as 279 µg/dL (65-175).
As I remember when they've tested Ferritin showed a normal result.
"Good surprise" came from AgHbs Quantitative: 5600 iu/ml ( a huge drop from around 19.000 when I tested last time).
Last ultrasound came back normal, liver MRI was normal when they've checked spleen.
Would be the iron the cause of my abnormal Fibroscan result?
I will speak with doctor on next visit about this tests(private tests done by me).
What are your thoughts. Thanks
Update:
Just got an fibroscan which unfortunately get back with 13.8 kpa.
After multiple attempts and get invalid measurements operator took XL probe. I'm overweight. BMI 29. I think ALT still over the normal limit. Ultrasound normal, MRi of liver normal.
Will be possible to get error on this readings because all of that? He ordered new blood tests and another ultrasound.
I will retest in 3 months.... So awkard and worried about it.
Update 2:
Just got a letter from my specialist. She got results from MRI done on liver + spleen.
This shows that your liver is normal, which is of some reassurance. In addition to this there are
several small abnormalities within the spleen measuring up to 12 mm, which have the
characteristics on the MRI scan of hemangiomas (benign collection of blood vessels). Your scan
is therefore reassuring and in general no follow up is required for hemangiomas.
I've done some private blood tests which show an elevated ALT of 76 u/l. Hopefully this increase is just a result of bad diet over the Christmas period. I'll repeat it in the next months.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
There is no way of knowing what this is until they look closer.
Sometimes they will do a closer look and it will just be nothing. Other option is that it might be something to be concerned about. When they do ultrasound they are looking for cancer and signs of any abnormal tissues. I would not worry. Just pray and make sure you are taking the critical vitamins like vitamin D and vitamin K (MK4 not MK7)
