What do you do for GERD symtoms?

My GI doc says I have a minor hiatal hernia. I always have pain and pressure in that area. I get bloated a lot after I eat something that's even small. Sometimes when I eat it gets better. I have been going around and around with this for 2 years now with burning clear up to my throat at times. This is what I am doing for this. I tried the PPIs and they worked for a month and that was it. Sometimes I put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a tumbler of water and that helps. I have been using a product from Life Extension called EsophaCool. They are tum-like tablets that seem to work well. You chew them. They have something in them called DSL Licorice. I have now bought a DSL product that I am experimenting with. One chewable before meals. They seem to help. They are made by Planetary Herbals. My wife likes red wine. I don't drink but I took a shot of the stuff and it helped right away. So every time I get the pain in my upper stomach, lower rib cage where my hiatal hernia is, I take a shot of red wine. Maybe it's 2 ounces but that's all I need to take care of this pain/pressure. My GI doctor says that that makes no sense that this works. I said I don't know what to say. It works every time. They say to not lay down after you eat. Well I lay on my yoga mat and do some leg stretches after 10 minutes after I eat and that helps as well. I have a bed that reclines and I use that every night. So what I'm doing is maintaining it as best as I can. I would suggest to others about the wine sip and the EsophaCool. That works the best. Keifir yogurt helps sometimes as well and only about a half cup. CBD does nothing for this either for me. Anyway, I just wanted to share. Thanks for reading this long message. Let me know what ya'll have tried. This has been a pain in the petootie for me.

CBD helps me. I had to try different strains to find a one that works. I also drink some pickle juice and it helps. Milk and bread works great. Pepto and milk

This is forjonny again. I have trying something new. I have been taking smaller bites of food and chewing it to death and am having good results from this. I normally like to take big bites and get all the flavor for food. But when I do this, I tend to swallow food that I have not chewed properly because I have not that much room in my mouth for such a large bite. So, I swallow food from the back of my mouth and chew the rest. I never noticed I did this but now I am more aware and it has been helping a whole bunch. Try it, smaller bites, chew it to death and swallow. Gee whiz, who knew?
