STD/STI/HIV from protected sex

Hi all -

This incident occurred a couple days ago. I (male) was having drinks (slightly buzzed) and ended up having sex with an escort (female). We used a condom the whole time but we had oral sex and regular (vaginal) sex. All protected but I wanted to understand my risk for infection.

The risk here is quite low. You had protected everything.

As I explained in your previous post, oral sex on it's own is considered low risk, and most experts don't feel it warrants testing for just one unprotected encounter.

Yours was protected. In theory, you might have a risk for syphilis and genital hsv1, if you don't already have oral hsv1, but I wouldn't even worry about it.

The risks from protected vaginal are syphilis, HPV, and genital hsv2. Again, the risks are quite low.

It's probably time to talk to someone about your anxiety, and why you continue to see escorts when they cause you such turmoil after. No judgement at all, but mental health is as important as physical health.
