Gnawing, Empty Feeling in Stomach

For the past two months I have had a gnawing, empty feeling in my stomach which feels like massive hunger.  It does feel better after I eat, but the comfort feeling from eating does not last very long, then I return to this miserable feeling.  I also can burp many, many times in a row.  This helps a bit, but doesn't cure the horrible feeling.  Occasionally, I feel like throwing up.  I also awaken at night with it.  Can anyone help?

I googled the symptom. I’ve been told all these symptoms I get on and off are related to my anxiety. Can come on if I’m not worried about anything.

Right now, started before I ate, it’s almost like a knawing, something eating inside of my stomach / chest. So hard to described. I’ve had so many medical issues ruled out over the 22 years I’ve had GAD & depression. The 1. Thing I’ve realized the most- the more odd or hard to describe the symptom, the more it’s probably due to anxiety regardless if you are stressed out or now.

Personally I’m dependent on a couple medications. I know I’ll get this symptom when I need one or just out of the blue. It sucks but knowing that it’s just uncomfortable and not physical seeing other people know what I’m on about gives me a piece of mind for about 2 minutes and then the feeling stresses me out again.         As mysterious as this comes on it leaves the same way.

I have an empty hungry feeling in my stomach when I have anxiety. It’s almost like a feeling of the inside being knawed at. If trying to explain to a doctor it’s very difficult. It also sounds not serious at all considering they’d say it’s anxiety. I have it on and off daily. It’s more annoying and bothersome then painful.  It really makes me not want to do much. I have it now, but I know it will be gone soon and come back. Not even worrying about something and it is here. Generalized anxiety disorder has some of the most strange sensations or symptoms. No upset stomach. Just an uneasy not nervous but odd feeling.

I have had this tummy hunger empty feeling along with the belching as others have described. This all came on after a very stressful time in my life. I have had to learn to try and not to mouth breath when able, try to breathe through the nose, this will help the gas plus reducing caffeine helped a little. Eliminating caffeine helped a lot. Reduce stress where possible and exercise or at least get out for 20 minute walks a few times a day.

Hmmmm definetly sounds like a possible peptic ulcer.  You should get into see a doctor and have them check for one in your stomach/small intestine.  Have your bowel movements changed at all?  Diarrhea, loose, darker than usual?
