Long time with cyst,HELP!!!

I have posted here before without reply tho. :(   My question is.. I have had a corpus leutium cyst for over a year. 4cm with blood fill. my periods have been on and off since then. more off.  no pain. the doctor had told me to take progesterone for 10 days and it would more than likely take care of it, but if not i would have it removed. Im scared to take anything due to my being allergic to tons on meds! I also had a cyst 20 years ago and had it removed, but had a terrible reaction to (get this) the meds to RELAX you! almost died. Im so scared. I also have pannic attacks that started soon after my oldest daughter was killed. PLEASE, i really need to help. also, since i have no pain or anything do you think im probably okay? also...  i have no ins.   thanks !!!!

Sorry you are going through such a tough time.  I didn't have insurance either but was able to get medicaid. Maybe you can check to see if you qualify for it. There may be some other programs if you can't get medicaid.  I hope you can get the cyst checked out soon.  I don't know much about it but I do know that the sooner you find out the better off you are.

You can have bios mixed at a compounding pharmacy.  There are some that are very expensive and some not.  There is a place near me that charges about 450.00 for the whole thing, but my GP said everything they do is unnecessary.  There is another place that charges around 35.00 for the swab and 45.00 for the mix.  So after the initial test it would only be about 45.00 a month.  That is here in TN I don't know what it would be where you are.  Do your homework and shop around.

I don't know too much about cysts, but wanted to agree with Marie - I don't answer a post when I don't know the answer. Regardless, I'm praying for your family and hope someone here can offer you some advice. With love, Deandra

We try to be a very supportive community here, but sometimes we just don't know what to say.  Unfortunately, sometimes posts slip through the crack and don't get answered.  I am sorry you didn't get a response.

Progesterone has been used extensively and successfully to reduce cysts.  Many women have been able to avoid surgery by using it.

You will know pretty quickly if you are having a bad reaction to it.
If you can take benadry, as it counteracts the effects of many drug reactions.

I am also allergic to a ton of meds, but I can't do without them enitrely.  There is always a med in every category that won't make me sick. For instance, I can't have morphine or codeine, but I tolerate hydrocodone and dilaudid very well.

If you ever have to have surgery again you should know they don't give you that pre-op pill anymore.  They always gave you a pill that was part valium, part something to dry you up so you didn't pee on the docs shoes, and part something else.  I had a lot of surgeries for cysts from 1975-1998.  Anyway, they don't give that anymore because someone complained about being loopy when they signed the consent papers so now you don't get anything.

My advice would be to try the progesterone.

I am sorry about your daughter.  I have 4 girls and I don't know how I would get through something like that.  My prayers will be with you.  Please let us know what happens.

I have noticed that if we don't have an answer to the question, we don't answer a post.  I don't know much about cysts, so I tend not to answer many questions about them.
Anesthesia, I will tell you has come a long way in 20 years, all of the drugs are different.  So you cannot say what happened 20 years ago would happen again.   I don't know if you have cancer, your Dr. does not seem to believe that it is, ultrasounds give a fairly good idea of the type of cyst.  Good luck to you
