sclerosis (thickening) of the endcap (a part of) the lumbar spinal bones L3, L4, L5.
If they've thickened to the point of pinching a nerve, this can cause numbness, weakness, and you need to see a neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon.
long.
they numb up the area that the needles go into, so it's just a little uncomfortable when the anesthetic is put in. the shots themselves don't hurt since you're numbed up
i grew up in Peoria, not too far from there ;)
P.S I am going to have pain shots in my spine on Wed. How long are the needles! and is it painful to have these shots? Thanks, Karen
I'm going to the pain and spine institute in Joliet,IL..
more arthritis. MS is degeneration of the nerves. you have arthritis of the spinal bones. great that you don't have deteriorated discs and no pinched nerves
Karen, good luck with the pain shots tomorrow... yes, a small world.

I do have some numbness, my doctor is a orthopedic surgeon. He told me that I have deteriorating discs but no pinched nerves in L3, L4 and L5. He beleives there may be one higher. Right now though, one thing at a time! Thanks, Karen.
Thank you for answering my question, is this condition more arthritis or is it more ms? I start pain shots on wed, in the spinal cord. Thank you, Karen Kempa
