another cyst

I repeated a ultrasound in November of 2007 the cyst that I had previously disapeared. In February of 08 I started having the same symptoms as I did I waited until my menstrual cycle was over, to see if the pain still existed and it did. My gyn sent me for a ultrasound and I again, have another cyst not on both of my ovaries. Is it normal to developed them again in such a short period of time?
What are my options?

Cysts can appear pretty quickly or they can be slow growing like mine were.  This could just be normal cyclical cysts that will go away after a few cycles like the other one seems to have.  I don't know how old you are or what size your cysts are and both make a difference.  Did they tell you the size?

I have had one regular surgery (at bikini line) and 3 laproscopic surgeries for cysts and two I had rupture and it was to late for them to do anything, although on one they did go in to see what was going on and clean out scar tissue so I guess that is 5 surgeries.  I was only 32 when I had my last one so my Dr would not take out my stuff.  He knew I was divorced with two small girls, going to college and working full time and he did not think that was a good time to throw me into surgical menopause.  I kept thinking I would have everything out with the next cysts, but I didn't get anymore until it was cancer so...
I like the spelling error, (took me a minute to figure it out) as sometimes you feel like you are being torched (the burning gut pain was awful) and all the time you feel like you are being tortured.  : -)

Good luck to both of you

I just read up on this because..I was in for a right ovarian complex cyst removal 2 weeks ago this Friday.  When my doc was in there checking everything out, (and I had told her beforehand that I was having left sided pain just the night before surgery) she confirmed there was a lovely new, but simple type cyst on my left ovary.  She removed it.
I read on this forum yesturday that a woman had-had something like 5 laparoscopic surgeries for cyst removals.
I guess your options depend on how old you are, if you want to get pregnant again, if you are worried about going into menopause after ovary removal, surgery risks etc.
I know, in my own mind, that if I get another one of those sanity torchering complex cysts, it's bye bye ovary, and while they are in there, they can take out the uterus too.
The only reason my doc didn't do it this time is because I am only 34 and she couldn't see me on hormone replacement therapy so early..especially with all the recent studdies coming out.
Good luck to you.
