Chest Vibrations

I have had "internal vibrations" for a while.  It only happens when I am about to fall asleep and it happens often but not every night.  I can stop these occurances by drinking something (water, juice, etc.). It feels like my blood is vibrating and then it feels like the internal organs in my chest start soon after.  Taking a sip of water stops the whole episode.  I am currently taking aromasin, thyroid pills, and medication for joint pain.  I will be going to see the doctor about this next month.  It sort of feelsl like mini panic attacks but the heart palpatations never really felt like vibrations.

This discussion is related to Vibration on the left side of chest.

Read the book "Journeys Out of the Body" by Robert Monroe published in 1971.  I began experiencing these vibrations in the mid 1970s and didn't have a clue about what was happening until I read his book.  You can also find a chat room or forum on the Internet concerning "vibrations and astral projection" or "vibrations and out-of-body experiences".  It is a SPIRITUAL experience.  I've had them throughout the years.  ................. Almost every night I fall asleep normally only to suddenly wake up 20-30 minutes later with these feeling of vibration throughout my whole body.  MY heart seems slightly irregular and has the feeling like it wants to start racing.  Sometimes it does, most times it just beats strongly.  The vibrating feeling throughout my body is disconcerting.  I put my hand out to see if I'm actually shaking.  I am slightly but nothing in comparison to what I feel internally.  It last up to 5 minutes, then eventually I fall asleep, only to wake again after 20-30 minutes.  This can happen up to 5-7 times a night.  Eventually I fall asleep and fall into the regular REM sleep.

I did get a response from "itdood" who is suggesting that they may be caused by overactive catecholamines.  Looked it up and seems possible - part of an overactive adrenaline system.  I have had these from the time I was a teenager. I am now 48, but when I take anti-anxiety pills (SSRI's) they diminish.  I will also be seeing a sleep expert to see what it might be.  Maybe we can exchange info. about what we find out from our perspective doctors.
PS.  I do not drink alcohol, smoke nor take caffeine.
