vitrectomy complication

Hello,

I have recently had a vitrectomy (sucher less)  in my right eye for massive floaters which unfortunately hemorrhaged.  I have so much blood inside the eye and adhered to the lens that I now need cataract surgery and a second vitrectomy to clear the blood.  I am being monitored weekly for retinal detachment for which there is none.  My question is what are the symptoms of RD?
Will there be pain and or flashes of light?  How will I know?

(female, age 39)

This discussion is related to trauma to the head cause vitreous detachment.

Thanks...I thought that was the case.  I did go for an emergency ultrasound and they said no retinal detachment.  Still seeing a bubble of light sometimes along the far right side.  Is that a concern?  What could that be?

Use search and look up RD.  You won't be able to tell due to the blood in your eye.
