Hi,
There are several OTC antifungal medications. You may try an ointment or cream for as long as you have no known allergies with these.See if the symptoms resolve. If this is fungal this should readily resolve. If the symptoms persist then cease using the medication and have this assessed by your physician.
Avoid using any deodorant for the moment.
I have had it for about a month already. It just very discreetly appeared one day. It is an on and off discomfort. I have no known allergies really. I found it curious that it didn't spread and my roomate said she had something similar and it ended up being fungal. If I could get an over-the-counter cream to try while I wait, that would be great.
Thank you for your help.
Hi,
I can delineate the size through the image but based on your post I would like to think that this is a fungal infection.
You have noted the involved skin to be scaly and itchy. At times, it may be evident and there are moments when this is not so.
For how long have you had this?
A topical antifungal cream may be able to help. Discuss the best cream to use with your physician during your consult. There are several over the counter antifungals but just make sure you have informed your physician about this and that you have no allergies to the medications. The medications should readily resolve the condition if this is fungal. If not, discontinue use and have this further evaluated. Other differentials will be a dermatitis.
