I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy).

If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.

Of course in extreme cases people do have to use compression garments, but there are other techniques that you can be treated with and shown to help yourself as well.

Good Luck

Hello,

The only other thing that I know of (and my knowledge is VERY limited) is that occasionally they will also put you on antibiotics. I'm sure you have discussed this all with your doctor, so I would just keep doing what ever he/she said. Good luck.
