I have had similar thing from a fall three years ago. It has never become pronounced but I would like it removed. Is it more difficult to surgically remove them when they have not broken the surface?
Hi,
Is this bump found in the outside of your lip ?
For how long have you noted the presence of this bump?
Based on your description of the bump, this may be a mucocele. Mucoceles may be tiny to slightly large fluctuant( not really hard) nodular growths found in the inner side of the lip. Is this similar to your case? They may be secondary to trauma such as frequent biting of the lip.
Another differential will be apthous ulcers or cold sores. However, these usually present as erosions or ulcerations.
Do not try to pop this as this may only aggravate the condition. We do not want this to get infected. Mucoceles are benign and may persist for some time. The smaller ones may spontaneously resolve.
