I have S.O.D. (along with quite a few other digestive illnesses).
To answer your question:
I have pain mostly in the middle & left upper quadrant but I also occasionally have stabbing pains in the right upper quadrant as well.
I noticed you asking - so just FYI - I have had an ERCP/Sphincteronomy (with stints) & it helped me. I've went three years with bareable symptoms until now. Recently I've been ill for 2 weeks with an E.R. visit. But compared to 3 years ago - I'm doing great! It made a huge difference for my quality of life. I'm a type II S.O.D. though so that can make a difference, depending on what type you are.
Have you had one since your last post on here?
i have chosen not do the invasive ERCP w/sphincterotomy at this time. My pain comes and goes & is pretty much related to eating poorly.
Do you have SOD and LUQ pain?
What does your doctor think about sphincterotomy of the pancreatic sphincter?
Have you ever had pancreatitis?
thanks very much

my pain is primarily on the left & mid center....sometimes very rarely i get twinges on the right.
The pain from SOD doesn't have to be localized to the upper right quadrant. Pain can also be felt in the left quadrant as well.
