Hi,
I might have a found a similar problem. i had sex with my girlfriend today, not particularly rough or taxing sex, and yet it appears as though i have many little burst blood vessels around the head of my penis (on the surrounding skin not the actual head itself). these spots of colour are completely flat, numerous (maybe 20+ if i sat and counted) and slightly varied in size (maybe 0.5mm to 2mm) and seem to have very recently and quickly sprung up since earlier today. Though admittedly they could've possibly came from beforehand,i think it hard to imagine i wouldv missed them... they have absolutely no conditions other than their colour (a dark reddish brown maybe) they aren't painful or itchy or burning or anything like that - they aren't bumpy or anything and basically don't seem irritated in any way. however, they kind of shocked me. i just went for a pee and WAY there they were! i'v read a few of these blogs now and am calmer than before as they don't seem to be anything serious or any type of infection, but i would love NOTHING more than to know what the bloody hell they are!!

thank you anybody for any advice you can give,
W

Hi,

From your description this seems to be folliculitis - but there could be several other causes of your symptoms. This could be due to an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or secondary to insect bite etc or due to heat rash.  This could also be due to dermatitis , eczema or folliculitis. But nothing can be said with surety without a clinical examination.

You should wash the area and keep it clean, apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your symptoms. You could also use an over the counter antibacterial cream like mupirocin till you see your skin specialist.

Are you allergic to any specific substances? Have you had allergic reactions in the past?

It would be best to consult a skin specialist if the rash does not resolve in a few days. You should get the relevant investigations as advised by your doctor including blood work.

Let us know about what your skin specialist advises and if you have any other doubts.

Post us about how you are doing.

Regards.
