Please help

When I was approx 13 I noticed an extra piece of skin or a growth in or on my anus. It really hasnt bothered me too much and I am now 33. About 2 weeks ago my anus started getting a bit sore and itchy and I now have a very red rash around my anus and it will not go away.

It brings me too tears when I go to the toilet for a bowel motion. I am way too embarrassed to go to the doctor and want this to go away.At night my anus gets really itchy and I must scratch like crazy.

I would like to know if my growth would be a haemmeroid? and how can I get rid of this rash??? There is a little bit of blood each time I wipe my anus.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This rash may be a fungal infection. You have been scratching the area which is lined by thin skin .This makes the area more fragile. The presence of a dermatitis or infection further thins out the skin making it more fragile and sensitive. The scratching may have caused the bleeding. Hemorrhoids may also be a differential here. At this point, your internist will be able to help you ascertain this. A complete physical examination, including a digital rectal examination will be able to help. Also, a stool examination may be necessary.

Do not worry. Have this assessed early on so that the right management be given you.
