Rotten Egg Burps

I thought I was going to die with those rotten egg burps.  They [burps] smelled so bad that others could smell them across the room.  My family physican perscribed a drug called CREON 5.  I take two [2] capules with each meal and I have not had them since. They aresome sort of an enxyme that aids in the digestion process.    Trust me it was the miracle I had been looking for.  I had the same sympotms as the rest of you....rotten egg burps, tremdous amount of gas, runny stools that often had an oil sheen on the toilet water.  Good Luck !!!

I've been dealing with these symptoms for 12-13 years and nothing has helped. It has started getting worse in the last few months. I can't stand it anymore and I'm going to see a dr soon. No one I know has ever had these symptoms so I'm glad I'm not alone. Hopefully we can all find a cure for this awful thing soon.

use digestive enzymes. They are the cure. At least if you have what i have: sulfur burps, bloating, nausea, etc. Now's super enzymes are a godsend. I'm serious. It's that simple. Think about it: the food in your system is fermenting or whatever. It's clearly not being digested well. In my case, it's because my doc said i have IBS. It doesn't matter what's causing it, as long as i don't have the symptoms anymore! Ever since i've been using the enzymes, i'm fine. I can't believe so many people online have overlooked this! Let me know how better you feel

I had the same problem and the probiotic Align seems to be working for me. My son had the problem happen to him (AGAIN) last night. I put him on the probiotic this morning - I'll let you all know what happens in a couple of months. We have been dealing with this for over a year now. Good luck and God Bless!

Hi everyone,

My name is Brian, I'm 30 years old and have suffered from the "Sulphur Burp" syndrome.  It is awful.  I've suffered with the symptoms for over 15 years.  My symptoms have been: stomach cramps like someone was stabbing my insides, rotten egg smelling burps that tend to linger in the air forever and have even made other people puke (they believe I'm farting), nausea, vomit, explosive diarreah, sharp back pain specially in the lower back, gas that felt like little mice running around inside my stomach, to mention the most memorable.  I've tried everything over the counter you can imagine, I even tried cutting certain foods from my diet like eggs and onions and chili or spices.  Nothing helped.  Fasting helped a little, but just created other problems for me.  It has gotten so bad I end up sleeping in my living room sitting down on the couch because I can't lay down due to the uneasy feeling caused.  My burps sound like a roaring dragon sometimes.  My wife thought I was posessed.  I felt pregnant.  It's really horrible and I just want to let you know you are not alone.

I think I might be suffering from giardiasis.  Whenever I muster up the courage to see a doctor about it, all my symptoms vanish into thin air.  Besides I was afraid that I might be diagnosed with stomach cancer or something.  Well, I'm glad I ran into this site because I know I'm not alone, and neither are you.  Hang in there partner, and talk to your medical consultant as soon as possible.  Peace!

I am an ER nurse and have battled the problem for quite a few years. I have been taking Aciphex for GERD. After multiple test by GI we tried Align (probiotic) OTC. Prior to the probiotic I was having an episode every 2-3 weeks. It has been 4 months since the last episode

OK. Had them the last two days. Read and read and read about what it could be. Saw two post of people who said to take Pepto Bismol. Most of the research I saw said that the most likely cause was Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) which is the bacteria responsible for most ulcers and many cases of stomach inflammation (chronic gastritis). Well low and behold, the active ingredient in Pepto Bismol actually kills this germ.

So I went out at 4 am and bought the MAX strength which is 525mg per tsp of the active ingredient Bismuth Subsalicyate. I took a dose and a half and it took about an hour for it to fully kick in, but it actually worked! I had one bowel movement and the gas burps slowly but surely dissipated. NOTE* As soon as I took the medicine, the burp taste changed from eggs to more neutral. Also do not let children take this drug.

i had the same issue back in high school for 3 to 5 days a week for 6 months. It was ruining my life! In a way im so happy to find out im not the only one with this problem. I have not had the symptoms for years now until just today when it came back all of a sudden at work. Some people tell me stress can cause it, others say might be Giardia. I wish i could find a straight answer and a solution for this problem to stop it forever. I will try the CREON 5 your doctor perscribed.

it's horrible isn't it ?  i have had the same thing going on three days but it more of a "taste" then a smell. i have heard that drinking baking soda with cold water will help & then you will feel brand new, i just drink alkaseltzer.  but it seems to not help very much. so i'm going to try the baking soda today, hope this help. Best of luck !    -maddyrose.
