orbital decompression surgery

Hi there:  My husband has Graves and is schedualed for orital decompression surgery on both eyes Sept 10th.  Was just wondering what to expect for the first couple of weeks of his recovery.  We live 500 km away from the hospital so we are flying home four days after the surgery what can I do to make this more comfortable for him.

Was wondering if you ever had the surgery and how you are?
