Shoulder Blade protrusion

I have recently noticed that my left shoulder area is stiff and seems to have limited motion. I am also feeling alot of "crunching" though I can't say that I am in pain.  My left shoulder has also dropped.  When looking at my hair in a hand held mirror one day, I was shocked to see that my left shoulder blade protrudes out at least 2 inches and does not look anything like my right shoulder blade.  I have been going to a chiropractor, and it feels better but still looks the same.  I was referred to an orthopedic doctor who I saw last week.  I had a breast and several lymph nodes removed in October 2006, and this doctor thinks I may have nerve damage.  I just read an article online that said that some lymph nodes under the arm supply muscles around the shoulder and if damaged my alter function in this area. This is sounding like what my problem is.  Is there treatment for nerve damage and what is it?  Can this situation be corrected?

This discussion is related to Reactive Lymph Node surgery.

Thanks for your comment.  I asked my husband to look at the "winging of the scapula" and he said it does not change when sitting down.  My Othropaedic surgeon is sending me to the neurologist for tests to see what damage there may be to the nerves.

Thanks

Your description is consistent with weakness of serratus muscle and resulting in winging of scapula. If you are highly interested, please review the book" Muscles.testing and function withposture and pain", written bykendall,McCreary, provance, rodgers, romani. If you sit down and the winging of scapula is reduced, lower limb length discrepancy may be contributing to the condition. Othropaedic surgeons are supposed to help your condition.
