I think I had a heart attack

I am 59 and a very strange thing happened this morning. At 5:00 am I woke up with a terrible pain in the left side of my chest. It radiated down my arm and down my belly. My arm has been hurting all day from that. At 4 pm it happened again. I am ok now but I feel like a burning in my chest and my arm feels so week.I don't have the energy to go to the ER. I am calling my doctor in the morning. My back is hurting too. Any suggestions? I am normal weight but I do have diabetes and on oral drugs. Am I o.k.? My dad died from heart at 70. Thanks, Cindy

When in doubt, get to the ER.  If you're not up to driving, call 911.

Please let us know how you're doing.

Here's my vote!  You should have gone this morning.  Many of the deaths from heart attacks are from fatal arrhythmias that you would only know if you were monitored at a hospital.  Untreated heart attacks can also *extend* and cause more damage to the heart muscle.  Please go; you don't need energy to go to the ER unless  you don't want to live.

Wouldn't you think you should go to the ER?
If you are are worried because your father passed because of a heart attack, why wouldn't you be preventive and go?
So, here's one vote for the ER.
How many do you need in order to go?
