Is there a solution for severe floaters and problems after secondary cataract surgery?

After secondary cataract surgery I have what my Dr. has termed a floater.  It has, for all practical purposes, rendered my operated eye useless.  I'm desparte for a solution.  Is there ANYTHING I can do?

The floater may break up over time and and the brain can adapt.  Rarely, if there is a clump of a capsular remnant easily visible and hanging around right in the middle of the visual axis, you can sometimes hit it with a few more pulsed of laser - but this is uncommon.  Your surgeon would easily be able to see if that was a possibility.  Other than that there is only gradual breakup over time or very rarely vitrectomy for very select cases.  A few, very rare, ophthalmologists will treat floaters with a yag laser but this is not standard of care, not covered by insurance, and I can't recommend it at present.

I feel for you. I too have floaters following a retina tear, My Dr said they may "settle" or they may never go away. They say the surgery to remove them is much worse than the floaters are, but I wonder if the doctors would say that if they had to live with my floaters.
Good luck to you,
