uti/vaginitis

FLB
about a month ago, i started feeling pain that i automatically associated with a UTI. . this being my third this year. they put me on cypro. after i was done taking all the pills, the pain and urgency seemed to come right back. i went back to the doctors, and they put me on bactrim. but when the symptoms only got worse, my doctor started to do a series of tests. checking for stds, kidney stones and etc. he told me i had vaginitis, which is supposed to have uti like symptoms. but after the 4th day of the 7 days worth of pills, little to no relief has come from it. the urgency has yet to cease in the past two weeks. The severity worsens and dies down from day to day. Is it a urinary tract infection, or should we be looking in a different direction for  an answer?

I too have been having the same problems happening this year. Along with the symptoms you have noted... all the antibiotics have given me yeast infections.

I agian today am dealing with the UTI symtoms... however, like you, I think there are more underlining problems.

You might also want to find a physical therapist that works with ic issues. It's possible that the muscles surrounding your bladder and/or urethra are tight or spasming. This can cause symptoms that feel just like a uti.

Hi FLB, Ive had similiar symptoms...Since November of last year ive had about 6 or 7 UTIs...im on treating an infection atm. Even when i dont have one..i still get discomfort

Have they definately found bacteria in your urine? My doctor told me some women get Urethral Syndrome...i think thats like Intersestial Cystitis (spelling?!) where there is no bacteria causing the pain, the symptoms just appear.

I think the best thing you can do is see a urologist, thats what im planning on doing. Then they can do a cystoscopy, ultrasound and/or x-ray (not sure if youve done that tho)

I hope you find a solution very soon!
