Wow, that has been going on a long time. I would not rule out arthritis. I am glad you are getting x-rays and that the doctor you are seeing is interested in your case - that makes a huge difference. Did the doctor take any blood for testing? He may be waiting to see what the x-ray shows but that may be a next step. Let us know what the results are and, if it takes more than a day or two, call him to ask for the results.
Hi
I have not been diagnosed at all. The doctor I saw just said it was muscular spasms and prescribed those medications at the beginning of the summer. I stopped working out about a month ago and nothing is different, if not gradually getting worse, especially recently... This Pain has been consistant for about a year. I have seen a general practitioner but have not been able to get a referal to an orthopod. I went to a doctor today, because again I was in dibilitating pain, and he was facinated by the crepitus, (Cracking and popping) he could feel and hear in my back. He ordered an Xray, but thats as far as I have gotten. Do you think it sounds arthritic?
Yes, arthritis can affect you even at your age. I am sorry you are in pain. I have a lot of questions after reading your post. What tests have the doctors run? Did they give you a diagnosis? You wrote that you exercise religiously, have you taken a break from that to see if you improve? How long has this been going on? What kind of doctor are you seeing? How long have you been on the prescriptions you mentioned? Have they helped at all?
