plaques on penis

Hi doc..long time no speak.I had some genital warts treated in december.I recently noticed a red "rash" on my foerskin..about the size of a dime.I had been masterbating that day ..about 3 times. The third time i did feel somewhat of a burn in that exact location.I was useing cetaphil (which i never use)I saw a microbiologist. When he first looked at it..he said its abnormal. He then told me its trauma, and to not touch it and come back in 10 days. On my next visit, which was actually 2 weeks later, i told him that i was having itchy skin all over my foreskin, acompanied with redness. He told me the trauma was getting better ( not true ) and to put cortizone for the itching, and did a test for yeast. This man goes through so many patients,he can't even remeber what i was there for, yet he tells me " its getting better" Doc, its been 3 weeks, and no sign of improvement, the itching and redness continues, and the "rash" is still there.I have also had very frequent urination..and an extremely dry mouth. If you look back at all the other things my body is going through over the course of this year,i'm surprised i have not lost my mind.Doc, can this be penile cancer. Is it normal to be having the thick skin, redness and rarely slight pain, with trauma? Can an mri help? Please help, and thankyou for your time sir.

You need to post in men's health.  What you are talking about is NOT an std.

And see your doctor.

i woke up this morning with a HUGE amount of smegma all over my gland and foreskin.Skin is real swollen..head is a bit discolored. This is SCARY.Last time this happened..the doc's didn't know what was going on.From what i understand..and over production of smegma is carciogenic. This just won't leave me alone..and i don't know what to do anymore..who to see.I'm so frustrated...i've been doing alot of crying recently. This whole situattion is just crazy. Aj..what do i do?

Its not cancer.  Penile cancers are rare.  See - that's the part that gets everyone thinking you have anxiety.

Your itchiness sounds like psoriasis, and that could be keeping the warts active.

Doctor hopping doesn't do anything good either.  You could end up with 5 different ideas, instead of letting one doctor work to get you a diagnosis.

I doubt you are peeing every 2 min, but if you are urinating more frequently, then you need to get that checked too.  Talk to the doc at the clinic about it today.

yeah... i'm going to an std clinic today.I saw a dermatologist yesterday and he told me he thinks its psoriasis? He gave me a cream.I also have alot of new warts.Do the warts ever go away?He wanted to freeze them..but i said no due to the fact it left brown blothches last time he frooze them.He suggested a cream instead. So as far as the "rash",one doc says trauma, the other says psoriasis?Whats weird is that its not only a rash..i get sharp pains as well(rare) and real itchy skin. The foreskin gets red and inflamed.I can't stop pissing every couple of minutes as well.I don't know..you put these all together, and cancer seems like a possibility. My mouth is so dry..its unbareable..and i have problems swallowing.I've done some research, and my symptoms do coincide.I've been a heavy smoker for years..and have had some real risky sexual encounters.God knows how long i've had hpv.I'm just real scared aj. If its not cancer, why can't they tell what it is ..for sure.Everybody looks somewhat clueless

It looks like they've removed your post and I didn't get to see the doctor's answer.

I will say that going from a rash to penile cancer is quite a leap, and it does sound anxiety driven.  Yes, we get a lot of scared and anxious people here - but there is a difference between nervous about test results and people who have an anxiety disorder.  I don't know - and can't diagnose - if you have one, but making the mental leap from a rash to cancer is a sign of anxiety disorders.

In any case, no I don't think you have cancer, and don't need an MRI.  I also don't know why you saw a microbiologist when a regular doctor or dermatologist would be just fine.

Sometimes doctors at STD clinics are even better, because they see more of this stuff than anyone.

They told me never to post anything ever again.I can't believe it.They said my questions are too anxiety driven, but it looks like thats the case for most people on this site.People are scared, including me.Thats not a crime.Anyhow...thanks for the post auntiejessi.
