herpes in weird areas

about 10 months ago i started to see this guy and i never seen anything on him. well about a month or two later i woke up and my stomach itched pretty bad(by belt line). i looked at it and it was red, few hrs later it started to puff up then a blister showed up.i showed my dad said it might be a reaction from or laundry detergent.so i stoped using it and started with the kind i always used. well then about a week later after the first one i had, it came on my arm by my elbow. and it seemed to show up when ever i got out of bed , then we started to think it was a spider bite reaction cause it had blisters. i went to the doctor the first thing i asked was poisen ivy? herpes? what.she looked at it and said poisen ivy or poisen oak. so she gave me a steriod cream, ok it went down a little. After more break outs i went to an allergy clinic to see what it was they were thinking staf infection.anyway long story short i seen about 5 doctors and no one seemed to know what it was.then finially went to another doctor and got a test done, forgot what it was called but they took a small peice of skin where the infected area was.it came back as herpes she doesnt know what type...but i am taking valtrax and i still have breakout about 2 or 3 times a month.it *****. i been taking it for about 5 months. why am i breaking out so bad? my friend that i know he only broke out on his chin 2 times in 9 months and he doesnt take medication.

Hi,

You  contracted the virus through  his infected saliva or mucous membranes. Certain stresses, in your case, emotional stress could reactivate the virus. I do understand how this affects your outlook in life but it would really help if you just accept and just continue living your life. Try to avoid stress to prevent any reactivation or recurrences.  Joining support groups would also help. One such link is:  http://www.herpes.com/supportgroups.shtml

Take care and regards.

what do you mean by saliva, when i break out or all the time? i know if i do have a ton of stress i break out, so i quit my job and went to another having alot less stress.but i get alot of emotional stress and i stress out and cry when i break out. i wish i could go longer than 2 or 3 weeks without a breakout. why do you think i break out so much is that normal, cause if ppl broke out that much wouldnt it be noticeable.im affraid someone is going to find out, i cover mine on my arm with band aides i always get it in the same spot or very close.never had it down below or in my mouth only on my arm, chest near arm pit by breast, on breast and on the tip of my nose and on my knee.the areas that break out most often is my arm. i use to get it on my back nd stomach but it focuses on my arm nowalways back of elbow.well the doctors i talked to dont seem to know to much and i keep hearing differant stories from each doctor. am i allowed to have sex? and kiss and have a life this ***** im young and want more children i feel like my life is over cause of that freaking man *****. i wish i knew he was sleeping around.or wished i never moved where i did or this would have never happened.i dont know what to do or where to go i need help. i dont understand why my friend only had 2 break outs and i had hundreds.

Hi,

Herpes simplex virus can be very contagious. People contract herpes by just touching infected saliva, mucous membranes, or skin. After the herpes virus infects there are 3 stages that occur: 1) primary infection wherein the virus enters the skin or mucous membrane and reproduces. 2) latency: the virus moves to a mass of nervous tissue in and reproduces again and becomes inactive; and 3) recurrence. Certain stresses, emotional or physical, the virus may reactivate and cause new sores and symptoms. Recurrences  depends on your immune system, and triggers. Discuss the frequency of your break outs with your doctor and which medication is suited for you. Take care and keep us posted.
