Sleep Apnea?

I have always had a problem with snoring. The snoring has become worse since becoming an adult. My mother commented to me about 3 years ago that I snore real loud, even louder than my father ! I am 37yrs old (YOB 1971) I am overweight(obese) 116kg, 171cm tall. I am female. I am constantly tired during the day.I will usually fall asleep on the lounge in the afternoon, I will usually sleep for about 15 mins, and sometimes up to 1 hr( I usually feel refreshed after the 15 min power nap). Recently I have started gasping for air during the day and sometimes even snorting as if I need to take a very quick breath.Could this all be due to sleep apnea? My upper abdomen is quite often bloated( as if I am pregnant) When I press on it it feels firm and as if there is a balloon under my skin, what could be causing this? A tumor? Fat?

Well, the only really true way to tell if it is sleep apnea is to have the doctor to prescribe a sleep test at a sleep center. They attach certain leads to your head  and I think other parts of your body, then they can monitor what is going on when you are sleeping.

If it is not sleep apnea, it could be another type of sleep disorder, insomnia, or not enough exercise during the day.

The bloating could be caused by gas TrueBlue, try not to eat or drink anything about an hour before bedtime. Again, I think a visit to the doc is in order for both of you.
