Our son sounds like he could be your son's twin! I am VERY interested to hear how this issue worked out........what methods worked for you?  The only thing our son seems to respond to is being isolated - he hates not being with us (like being sent to his room) but this is only an immediate and short term discipline - I can't make him stay in his room indefinitely!   He such a good kid, and VERY intelligent for his age - how do I discipline him for something that I'm not actually seeing him do?  He's great at home - no issues, but once he gets to school all bet are off!  I find myself projecting on to his teacher because in all the times that I've visited her class to help out with anything, she doesn't seem to have control of the kids - and her room is in total chaos!  Messy and totally disorganized, but I keep telling myself to cut her some slack, not everyone is organized. Help!

This is not the doctor link, but as a parent and former teacher I can give you some suggestions.

My son has behavior problems when he eats foods with red dye and or sugar.  
His behavior has improved since we started giving him protein based meals.  Also we started giving him children's gummy bear vitamins without the red dye.  A child this age needs to have about 12 hours of sleep.  Is your son getting enough sleep at night?

my son is the same way. i am at my wits end of how to help him at school. his teacher sends him to the office everyday and they have isolated him from his kinder class all day and all week. his first day back to class he acted up and was sent back to the office. what do i do? he also is very smart and i think he is must be bored with kindergarten. i also feel at this point a different teacher would be the best for him, he is isolated everyday.
