i just had my 3rd baby and the doctor told me that i have a hernia were the muscels are weak is this hernia going to go away on its own and if so how long do it take or do i have to have surgery

Hi,
There are three types of hiatal hernia - sliding , paraesophageal and mixed.
These are mostly asymptomatic .
Paraesophageal hernia may cause gastric volvulus in which the stomach gets twisted which is a surgical emergency.
