Homework 102 - Have You Done Your Homework

Did You Do Your HOMEWORK?????

OK .. Have you all completed Homework 101 .. if not .. STOP HERE and go to http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/724825.  This really is important as we will be using Homework 101 in a variety of ways throughout the challenge.

For those of you who completed Homework 101 .. we're on to Homework 102.

Keep Homework 101 in a safe place and for Homework 102 - Take a clean sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle.  On the left side .. write the word "WIN".  On the right side .. write the word "LOSE".

Now .. on the left side, under "WIN" .. make a list of all the things you will gain by successfully losing weight.  Some examples might be living longer, having room on my lap for my grandson, being able to walk without labored breathing, increased self esteem, improved health  ... and so on.  This is a personal list and will be different for each of you.

Then .. on the right side, under "LOSE" .. make a list of the things that failing to lose weight will cost you.  This list should be an opposing list the the ones on the left side.  Some examples might be dying early, not being able to hold and cuddle my grandson, losing the ability to walk, feeling bad about myself, declining health (asthma, heart disease, knee replacement, etc).

We will be using this as a motivational tool as we move forward in the challenge.  EVERYONE needs to do the Homework .. it helps us to R E A L I Z E the price of our C h o i c e s.

Best wishes ..

W E L L L L L L L L .... let's say everyone has till Sunday to get Homework 1 and Homework 2 done.  Then we'll be using both of those things in Homework 3.

I BELIEVE those wanting to lose weight and sustain those efforts need some additional tools to put in their arsenol.  That is what homework is all about ... to walk us through some steps that will get us there.

Homework 1 involves pictures, NOW and of where you want to be (either an old picture of yourself OR perhaps a picture of a dress you'd like to fit into in the future).

Homework 2 involves the list above.  These two things will be used like the proverbial "carrot" to help keep us motivated to move forward and to change our eating habits from subconscious eating (emotional or otherwise) to conscious eating .. stopping and thinking .. and making choices based on this list and on where you are and where you want to be.

Hope everyone wants to put the effort into doing some of these things that may seem silly .. but will pay off in the long run.

No detention, Ms Lucinda ... always hugs, kind words and gentle nudging!  lollll

Hey bet ... thanks for the SHOUT .. truly!

Barb - Don't push it for tonight .. do it as you can and hopefully have it done by Sunday evening.  Just glad you are putting in the effort of doing it.

You all are at the head of the class with top honors!

Okay....I've been a bad, bad girl in the homework department.  Do I have to serve a detention Ms. Ranae?  All I have left of homework 101 is the current picture department.  Have several awesome ideas for the pics from what I looked like before, just have to pick.  Have homework 102 to complete while serving out detention as well.

Will get those up ASAP!  ; )

For those who have posted ... Great Job!

For those who have not ... hmmmm ... we're in a challenge ... did you think there wouldn't be homework????

Come on TEAM ... we have to pull together and do the work if we want to make changes.  Losing weight is about learning how to keep our motivation alive in times of temptation, learning new behaviors that will sustain us .. and that involves homework .. ;]

We currently have over 30 (Thirty!) people signed up for the challenge .. 5 people have voted.

LET'S DO THIS TOGETHER!!!!  Or do I need to take lessons from Jillian and be a drill sergeant???   LOLLL

(((Hugs))) and Success to all ...

I've done it all!!!!! And just want you to know that after all of  my frustration of not being able to lose anymore weight since our last challenge, I did lose 1 llb. Not much, but better than nothing. I was just so down on myself for not being able to lose anymore. I did lose it when I dropped  myself down to 1400 calories . I think I might try 1200, but my doctor said no. He said I could try to stay between 1500 & 1600 calories a day. I'll try 1200 anyways.  I;m not a happy camper when I'm not losing weight.

This was actually very refreshing to do! I still have to do Homework 101 and will definitely to it before midnight unless I totally and completely space it. ACK! Pictures of this body. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this!

I've got a hot pair of jeans sitting out to motivate me, too. Back from the day when I was a skinny 125-135.
