numbness in left leg, severe cramps legs, pain in rt butt

i had back surgery twice now, ruptured disk, first on lower back and second time much higher on back. now i have numbness in left leg and sometimes right. but i have constant pain on rt butt near waist. like someone poking me with stick. i told dr and he says just take lyrica, but all that does is make me fatter and dry mouth. i told him they are not working and he says he can no longer help me. have not been able to work for 2 yrs. cant sit, stand, walk for more than 30 minutes. is this normal after ruptured disk? has anybody else    gone thru this. is this normal? am i to be like this for rest of life?

I just had lower back surgery: L4, L5, decompression of nerves. I am into my fourth week of recovery, and I am experiencing nerve pain in my left hip, thigh, knee, inner leg, and lower right back. The doctor is placing me on Neurontin to alleviate this issue. Has anyone else gone through this pain? Best Regards..I would appreciate responses.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
The symptoms of leg and buttock pain that you have mentioned is common in case of ruptured discs, due to the compression of spinal nerves. Please consult another neurologist for a second opinion. Physiotherapy and decompression of the spinal nerves may relieve the symptoms. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
