Tantrums in children under 2

I am very concerned for my friends 21 month old son. For several months he has been throwing sever temper tantrums. His developemnet is slow. he is not speaking but a few words, eventhough he has 2 older sisters. He just started walking a few months ago, and it is more like a waddle.
I have a son who has a brain tumor and aspbergers, so I maybe see things the average parent doesn't, or am I reading too much into this. I think he might be autistic, but do not know how to approach this with her.

This discussion is related to Help I have a 3 and a half year old that is very aggressive and screams.

maybe. Like I said he just started walking, he can't seem to sit up strait (se slouches to one side alot) says only a few words. he doesn't look when you say his name, unless you say it several times. and it is something about his eyes, they don't seem to focus, doesn't follow objects, and he throws these horrid tantrums. I told her to tell the baby's pedi, but I don't know that she will. It is a hard thing to admit and come to terms with the fact there is or could be something wrong with your child, I understand that only too well,I hope I can get through with her so she can get this baby evaluated. I hope I am wrong but my gut tells me I'm right.

maybe you do see too much in to things, but maybe that is a good thing. you should try again, if you really see something there then i would. you obviously feel for this boy, let her know you are trying to help and tell her you are there for her, always.
continue to talk to her about this and maybe she will see and do something about this

I have tried to voice my concerns, but I think she closes her ears to it.  There are alot of little things that bother me about this little boy. Things most people wouldn't notice. Maybe because of the things I have been exposed to I read too much into things. I will try and say something again.

if you see a prob it is probably best to speak to her, she may not see this. she would more then likely feel grateful to you for talking to her about it so she can help him as soon as possible.
