way too itchy

For several years I have had a sort of swimmers ear, with itchy, weepy skin inside my left ear canal. Sometimes cortizone cream will help relieve it for awhile but it always returns again. Now, I seam to have this same condition around my rectum (and hemmoroids). It is VERY VERY itchy and disturbs my sleep . After scratching the area it weeps . Do you have any remedies? I have used cortizone cream but it does not work for long.

Oh my goodness!!  I thought I was the only one!  I was diagnosed with "swimmer's ear" when I was about 14 (both ears) and have suffered from it since. (I'll be 45 this month) Sometimes, fluid would literally run out of my ears and drip off my ear lobes. Gross. The only thing I've ever been given is a variety of corticoseroid drops. Then, when I was pregnant with my 4th child (she just turned 14) I began to get itching around my lower pubic region and around to my vaginal area. I was then diagnosed with eczema in a "most unfortunate area" and given corticosteroid creams. This eczema is now all the way back to the top of my butt crack, really bad around my rectum and also creeping up to my lower abdominal region.  I'm so itchy and I scratch until I bleed, then it hurts and itches more - all over. I have found ONE lotion that gives me some relief and seems to heal my skin. It's made by some friends of mine who have their own natural products company.  This cream is made with organic lavender oil (along with other organic ingredients) I've just ordered another jar of it. I also put a bit of this on a Q-tip and gently twirl it around in my ear canal and it relieves my ears too!!!!

I've been out for a long time so my "unfortunate" eczema is driving me crazy. I should be recieving my lotion in a couple of days so I can let you know how it goes - and then give you the contact info of where to get some if you want. It's the only thing I've found to work. I keep going to the doctor but don't even bother getting my prescriptions filled - it's just more steroid cream.

It's probably eczema. There is no cure and no one seems to care how much it destroys your life. Not trying to be sarcastic, just tired of dermatologist who act like it's just a minor itch.
The one thing you can't do is itch. I know don't breath either. When you scratch it makes it worse. You need to keep the area moisturized.
I wouldn't use steroids, they just make it worse. When you use steroids you need to use them constantly to get the affect. You also require more and more to get the same affect.
People with eczema need to fight for more funding towards a cure.
