Cervical , thoracic spine injury

In Dec. 2008, I tripped and twisted my back. I have had muscle spasms, radiculopathy, ache in my neck, left shoulder, upper and middle back and pins and needle sensations in  my spine. MRI showed anterior Cervical disc bulge at C4 impressing on the thecal canal, anterior Cervical disc herniation with tear in annulus at C5-C6 impressing on the thecal canal. bulging disc at T11, T12, and L5. 3 mm subluxation of C4, thoracic spondylosis, extensive disc degeneration, and osteophytes. No fractures. I see my psyatrist in a few days for consult on all this. I do not like walking around with this Cervical herniation problem. I am an active 55 y/o male (jogger) and I am worried about paralysis. I already have reinjured it this weekend while walking my dog and the dog went after a squirrel and jerked my left shoulder significantly and it is hurting more. I use heat and Ice and will see the pysiatrist. How do you think I should treat this and should I have disectomy urgery on the Cervical spine?? Thank you.
