So I went to a neurologist yesterday and was told I should see a cardiologist. So I saw a cardiologist today and was told I most likely have Vasovagal Syncope. I had an ekg done which came out normal, my blood pressure was also normal. I am wearing a heart monitor for 24 hours. Then they are doing a strees test on the treadmill. They are also performing the telt test. Her suggestions were to drink more water and increase my intake in sodium. If I don't want to add salt to my food, I can drink gatorade or one of those power waters. I didn't know that vasovagal syncope could cause me to feel unsteady while I walk.
Thanks so much for your suggestions.
Hi,
Your symptoms are suggestive of vasovagal syncope, however it needs to be confirmed with a clinical exam. It is characterized by symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, ringing in the ears, nausea, weakness, sweating and visual disturbances. The causes can range from low BP, dehydration, prolonged standing or sitting, hunger and extreme emotions.
I would suggest you to make sure that you eat on time, drink plenty of water and fluids, do some deep breathing exercises everyday and take rest.
Thanks
