I had this today. It is uncomfortable like a really bad period pain. I had a local because of difficultys. They do say u can go to work after but i wouldnt recommend it. They told me it takes 5 mins but it takes longer than that. You do bleed and have period type pains after. Take pain killers before you go that really will help..
another note i felt very sick afterwards.
This happened to me everyone is different.

Hi,
Well, iit's always better to be safe than sorry . I know it's inconvenient taking the antibiotic, but is safer I suppose. My husband and son both have to take antibiotics before even dental work is carried out so I know how you feel .. Keep us posted though,

Sandy

Thank you for your comments.  When I went to see the the gyn,he wanted to the procedure that day. When he looked up my records. He told me that I have to take penicilln before he carries out treatment. I have a b.a.v (Biscuipdid Aortic  heart valvle). Which is stinking sometimes.

Sorry... I just saw your other post about your symptoms. . No doubt this is why you will be having the procedure.. To find out perhaps what is causing the pain and bleeding....Again, it's a very simple procedure..

I believe what you are referring to is a hysteroscopy. It is used by the doctors to examine the uterus for abnormalities and to investigate any unusual causes of bleeding, etc. Also to view any fibroids if present. I was under general anesthesia and it was done at the same time my laparoscopy was done, but I understand it can be done with regional or local anesthesia so you will feel no pain.

I had a little bleeding because I also had a D&C (scraping) , but I imagine it depends on what is done .. Have you been having any unusual symptoms?

Good luck and try not to worry.. it's a simple procedure.
