WELL ON MARCH 11TH I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT. THE LAST TIME I SLEPT WITH MY BOYFRIEND WAS JAN. 31ST AND WE NEVER USE A CONDOM BUT I WAS ON THE PILL. EVERY NOW AND THEN ID MISS A PILL, BUT NOT ON PURPOSE. ON MARCH 18TH I GOT A VAGINAL ULTRASOUND AND THE DOCTOR SAID I WAS 5 WEEKS 2 DAYS. GOING OFF THAT IT WOULD BE MY BOYFRIENDS, BUT IVE HEARD IM SUPPOSE TO MINUS 2 WEEKS FROM THAT...IS THAT TRUE..?? BECAUSE THEN IT MIGHT BE THE OTHER GUYS.

I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD BE THE OTHER GUYS SINCE WE USED A CONDOM AND HE NEVER EVEN CAME CAUSE WE DIDNT GO THROUGH WITH IT ALL THE WAY. BUT A COUPLE DOCTORS THINK IT COULD STILL BE HIS BASED OFF MY LAST PERIOD.

THE LAST TIME I BLED WAS FEB 4TH BUT IT WASNT MY PERIOD, IT WAS JUST BECAUSE I GOT OFF THE PILL. PLEASE, ANYTHING WOULD HELP ME RIGHT NOW!!

i am so upset over this. i do not remember exact date of last period i believe it was aug 15th i had sex with my ex the next weekend (either friday the 21st or sat the 22), and then with someone else, (who i do not care about), on the 31st of august. the ultrasound tech told me i am 6 weeks pregnant. i think she said it was measuring at exact if my first day of period was aug 15th, (not sure the picture says 8 cm but i dont think that is right?)...is she still going by LMP or was I measuring up to what is exactly 6 weeks since I conceived?

I'm in the same boat. I had sex on June 14th started what I thought was a 3 day period that night, I moved out of state that same day. Got back with my ex and had sex June 21st that was a Wednesday and I think again that Friday (Friday being the night I think I got pregnant) Doc said I measured 12 weeks when I thought I was only 11. So if baby guy number one or number 2 ?!?!?

This is different. But I had my first ultrasound today. The doc said I was 12 weeks 2 days based on the measurements.  They couldnt go of my last period as I had forgotten my dates.
So just a curious question.. I remember on the 20th dec day after my period (pretty sure it was that date, not accurate) I had sex then again from the 27th dec to 4th jan. I just wanted to know when did I concieve as I dont quite get what the ultrsound ment.

In answer to your question, in doctor language, a 5 week 2 day pregnancy is 3 weeks 2 days from conception.  You do subtract two weeks to get to your conception date.  You would have conceived around 3 weeks 2 days before he said that when looking at your embryo.

I know it does not make sense to you because of the condom use and the short duration of the sexual activity with the other guy.  So let's figure out what it would take for it to be your boyfriend's.

If you got pregnant at the very latest possible day from your boyfriend, that would be January 31, right?  If the baby was your boyfriend's, when the doctor saw the baby on March 18 by ultrasound, he would have told you that you were 8 weeks 4 days pregnant.  (It would have been even bigger if you got pregnant by your boyfriend earlier than January 31.)

If there is any chance you are wrong on your dates of sex with your boyfriend, then maybe you'll get lucky and it is his.  But a doc isn't likely to confuse an embryo from a month earlier with an embryo from a month later.  There is just too much change in the embryo in those three or four weeks.

I sure hope there is some kind of a date mistake and it is your boyfriend's.  You're going to need DNA tests to be fair to all parties, and probably to be sure in your heart.

Hi my last period was Jan 27 so that would make me 4 weeks but my doctor measure me at 6 weeks. How can that be?
So I slept with someone on the 18th Feb and the 24th of Feb and I slept with someone on the 26th of Feb. I did a clear blue pregnancy test and it said I am 3 weeks plus. The date of my last period was 8th Feb. The question is which date did I concieve because I really need it to be the 18th or the 24th, it really can’t be the one from the 26th!! Can anyone help me??
Honestly, sperm lives for a number of days and with one week difference, that is going to be tricky to figure out.  This is a situation where a DNA test is going to probably have to be involved.  I'm sorry.  good luck and let us know what happens.  We have great pregnancy forums too, so stay in touch.  OH, and there is a DNA forum with a great community leader who may be able to help you!

I DID USE A CONDOM WITH THE OTHER GUY, BUT HE NEVER CAME, AND I'M 120% SURE OF THAT. THE CONDOM SEEMED A LITTLE TIGHT BUT HE ONLY HAD IT IN FOR LIKE 30 SECONDS, WE DIDN'T EVEN GO THROUGH WITH IT. I SWEAR HE DID LIKE 3 PUMPS N THAT WAS IT. WE SLEPT 2GETHER ON FEB 25TH AND ON MAR 11TH I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT. MY BOYFRIEND AND I WERE SEXUALLY ACTIVE ABOUT 3 TIMES A WEEK N A MISSED A PILL MAYBE ONCE A WEEK. I REALLY DOUBT IT WAS THE OTHER GUYS CUZ WE USED A CONDOM AND IT DIDN'T WRIP, BUT A COUPLE DOCTORS SAID THERE'S NO WAY IT CUD BE MY BOYFRIENDS IF THE LAST TIME I WAS WITH HIM WAS JAN 31. =( I'M BACK WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND I TOLD HIM I WAS PREGNANT CUZ I THOUGHT THERE WAS NO WAY IT CUD BE SUM ONE ELSES. WHEN THE DR SAID I WAS 5 WEEKS 2 DAYS, IT WAS BASED OF THE EMBRYO, NOT MY LAST PERIOD.

AM I SUPPOSE TO TAKE 2 WEEKS FROM THAT...??

sorry, have to agree with anniebrooke.  maybe at your next ultrasound things will be clearer.  maybe this guy did finish, and stopped things because it happened so fast.  did you actually see the condom afterwards?  to know he for sure hadn't finished?

anniebrooke is just tryin' to scare you.ask yourself a couple of questions.
1)did the condom rip
2)or was it too small
3)did it have a lot of sperm on it when he took it off
if it was too small and had alot of sperm on it it could be his and most likely the sperm oozed out of it
and if you didn't take your birthcontrol pills everyday most likely it had no effect
and this this is where you ask yourself some more questions
1)how many times did we have sex in a week
2)how many times did i miss taking the pill
3) and did he sperm alot
and conception take at least 4wks after you have sex
thats why i don't understand women taking pregnacy test right after they have sex
so the possibility of it being your ex's is very high

conception happens as soon as an egg is fertilized by a sperm, that doesn't necessarily happen right after sex unless you know you're ovulating the day you had sex or the day before. So it's very possible if you planned the day to conceive that you could be pregnant (which is considered as when the egg has implanted itself in the uterine lining) as soon as 2-3 days later.
As soon as that happens the hormone HCG is released and is detectable in blood. Remember, even if you had sex before you ovulated, sperm can live inside the female body for up to 7 days, giving you quite a wide window.
So taking a PT a week or so after having planned sex could still detect pregnancy accurately.

You can only have a false negative, you can't get a false positive, btw. If you take a positive pregnancy test to the doctor (at least here in the UK) they won't retest you because Pos is pos!

Doctors count a pregnancy as dating from the first day of your last period, not from the date of conception, because the first day of your last period is an obvious, known date, but the date of conception is usually an unknown.

In other words, if your period began, say, on March 1 and you are now pregnant, your conception date would on the average be midcycle (about March 14), but on March 28 a doctor would say you are "4 weeks pregnant."  All medical information about pregnancy is calibrated this way.

Did the doctor give you that 5w 2d figure based on counting on a calendar from the day you told him was the first day of your last period, or based on measuring the embryo?  If he saw the embryo on the ultrasound and measured it and *then* told you 5 weeks 2 days, I'd trust the measurement.  But if he just heard you say "My last period began February 9" and added it up from there, he will tell you the 5 w 2 d figure because that is what you said.

If he did look at the embryo on the screen on March 18, measured its spine and then said "This embryo is x centimeters long and that gives us a pregnancy dated 5 weeks 2 days,"  then the likely conception date is somewhere around February 23rd.
