levaquin

I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days.  Please help me.

Well my symptoms are gone so I assume it was just a UTI like they said.   I just had never had a UTI before and thought for sure it had to be something worse than that!

It MIGHT cure it, but its not on the preferred list of medications for it.  I'd test in a month from treatment to make sure its gone.  Many gonorrhea strains are now resistant to a lot of meds, and you want to make sure its gone.

It will cure chlamydia, not gonorrhea.
