Baby Milestones

Michaela just started rolling from front to back and has also started her version of comando crawling from 1 end of the cot to the other.  She's 3 months tomorrow.  So excited.  She is so much fun.

How're all your babies going milestone wise. :)

OMG I cannot say how jealous I am of ALL the sleep you mommies are getting! WOW...Caiden barely sleeps 5 hours straight! He is still eating every 3 to 4 hours...how the heck do you get your little ones to sleep that long!?

Caiden is a big boy and I think half the problem is, he isn't eating enough for his size. He's still only eating 4-5 ounces during the day and only 3 at night. I have tried and tried to get him to drink more at night, thinking he would sleep longer and he just falls asleep and is zombified. Nothing wakes him up! So I put him to bed and 3 hours later he's up and ready for another 3 ounces. Pretty much, same during the day. I feel like I have to force him to even drink 4 ounces..sometimes he will take 5, but than he is hungry 3 hours later, sometimes even 2! I just feel like for his size (almost 14 pounds and 25 inches) he should be eating more. Any suggestions? Because this mommy is exhausted beyond belief. I REALLY wish he was sleeping longer, it's killing me!

As for milestones, he has been lifting his head up since birth. He's such a strong boy! I try to lay him on his tummy daily (even though he doesn't like it) and we noticed the other day that he can move up and down! He gets really far quick..which makes me think he will be crawling any day now! I also think he's started to teeth...he used to never drool and lately its been drool fest!

He says "maaaa" I think he does it when he's over tired and started to cry..but its definitely maaa and I love it! He recognizes daddy & I..and always smiles when he sees us. He's been cooing and laughing for weeks now and he's so active. Always kicking his feet and moving his arms.

He's wearing mostly 3-6 months already! But only because he's so long!

Brooke is a great sleeper.  We go to bed between 10-11 and usually get up the next day at 10:30 or so.. We always get 10-12 hours.  I love it.  She's almost able to roll over now, could be any day.

Brooke has been saying "Hi" now since she was 7 weeks.  It's sooo amazing.  She laughs every so often too. Always smiling...I have to say she is one very ACTIVE baby.  Always a moving.  During bath time she splashes so much that I end up getting wet.

Can't wait to see what she does next :)

Myra has been sleeping through the nights from 2 weeks up until now.  She'll go to bed about 8:30 and get up at 7.  Once in awhile she'll eat at 2am, but that's ok with me =)

I was laying her on the floor the other day to help her roll over and showing her how to get started.  Now she's actually picking it up and tucking her one arm under her belly and curling up, but not yet rolled over on her own.  All my kids were 2 months old when they rolled over, so it should be sometime =)

She's talking to her hand.  It's wonderful.  Looking into my eyes and talking with a playful scream.  =)  IT's great!!

Plus teething should be starting soon and just looking forward to that.  Not that I want to have my nipples bitten, but just to see those "firsts" =)  It's exciting!!

Hi,

Our babies all get there at their own pace. THree months is still early.  From what I read babies roll over some time between 3 and six months...

But yes, lots of tummy time and lots of playing that tests and encourages her strength and balance.  I take her swimming already.  Stand her up. Help her sit just using her arms for minimal support.  Play jumping games. Sit her up in a high chair (strapped in of course). I am careful that she doesn't have sudden movements, but other than that I don't support her head at all (unless she's sleeping) and expect her to support it herself.

Michaela is about 13 1/2 lbs and quite tall and slim except for her gorgeous chubby legs and cheeks.  She already fits the 3 - 6 months clothes...

KM604 - yeah so cute when they grin or giggle in their sleep.  Michaela does that too.

Think I'll wait on the ear piercing till she's older.  Then it can be a birthday gift or some other special occassion gift if she wants it.

Lance, lucky lucky me too.  Michaela generally sleeps from about 10 pm through to 6.30  or 7 am.  I am usually the one to wake her up to ask her to drink before I get up. :)  Sleeping next to her probably helps (guess its reassuring for her to have a big, warm, familiar, milky smelling, snuffling body next to her)... she just has a drink at night, then I roll over and ignore her and she's off to sleep with not a sound.

Before I had her I wasn't sure about co-sleeping.  Now I am totally pursuaded - it makes my life so easy.....

Mikayla smiles all the time, she has only laughed in her sleep though (it was the cutest thing!).  She tries to roll to one side but hasn't actaully tried to roll over.  She isn't too fond of being on her stomach, but if I sit her on the boppie tummy down she can raise her head good.  She also holds her self up pretty good - almost a hip baby - but still has a little bobble head at times.  Mikayla coos all the time and even responds to us when we coo at her.  She also focuses VERY well on people and objects - everyone is always commenting on how alert she is of her surroundings.  I think she is pretty on target for her age :)  We may be getting her ears pierced soon, we have to wait until at least Monday because that is 2 weeks after her first shots.  She is now fitting in to some of her 3 month clothes, but also still wearing some newborn stuff - I think it's just the brands fit differently because she is 12 1/2 lbs and almost 24 inches long.

Wow, I am jealous! Annabelle isn't rolling over or sleeping through the night. That's awesome, have you two been doing anything special with your babies to get them there? I think Annabelle needs more tummy time, for one thing, is that something you really work on, Sally?

The only milestone Sarah has was getting her ears piereced on 4/18. However, she can no longer sleep in her sleep positioner because she wiggles her way out of it!!! She is very strong....and stands on her feet/legs if you hold her up.......

And I would have to say....that her sleeping is a milestone....for thepast couple weeks, she has been sleeping anywhere from 8-9.5 hours!
