Anyone with similar symptoms

This is a longish question and answer topic, based on actual personal experience. Please read it,plus I would like any comments from anyone who has had or having similar symptoms.
Around 11years ago i had slight chest pain whenever I walked up an incline, off I went to the Drs,who suspected I had symptoms of angina. After stringent tests it was discovered I had oesophagitis.
On my return to the surgery to ask what  problem was causing the discomfort,I was asked if I drunk excessive alcohol,to which my answer was,in moderation, sometimes, knowing my limitations. The docs advice was to cut my alcohol intake, refrain from eating nuts, animal fat, oils from any source,as these are recognised triggers, even  vegetarians are suspect to suffering from oesophagits too,by eating the same.as many vegetables are full of of oil.I took the advice and slowly the pain disappeared completely.
Some 18 mnths ago,I experienced similar symptoms as before, with more severity, even though I had heeded the  Drs advice, particularly when I walked up an incline of any degrees, althoughI could ride my push bike without discomfort.
Slowly but surely, particularly late last year,I experienced a very severe pain, across the shoulder blades, and down both arms,so much so I had to sit down, being scared of falling down.A few hours later I had a very similar bout of the same, which after a few minutes the pain abated.
For a  few days I had a burning sensation across my back and chest, when lying in bed.On seeing the doc,his diagnosis was that I had slight bronchitis in the right lung, advising me to take the prescribed medication, needless to say it didn;t make any difference to the discomfort I was feeling.
I have over the past few months tried different medication, proving myself that the problem is mainly to do with the oesophagus area once again, trying various remedies by trial and error, mainly antacid antiflatulent spasmolytic tabs, aluminium hydroxide magnesium, some of which work over short periods of time and other brands seem to alleviate the severe pain for a sustainable amount of time.
Four days ago I had almost as I thought, cleared or at least eased the nagging pain, through controlled diet etc,by not eating any trigger foods,ie tomatoes, coffee, onions, etc, but I thought I would try a different meal, including onions and saltjust to test the reaction,to see what would transpire.
Since the following day I have suffered tremendous pain in the central chest area, particularly whilst digging,or carrying items to and fro.If I sat down for a few minutes the burning sharp pain would abate, clear almost completely, but as soon as I started the same routine, back would come the very severe pain behind the chest bone, slightly to the left, causing me to think that maybe I do have angina after all.
As I am sitting here writing this I have no discomfort whatsoever, having just drunk a cup of ginger based tea.
I am getting concerned about the situation right now, therefore I would like to ask if anyone at all has had similar experiences, would they be kind enough to enlighten me with any info,or what they think it could possibly be before I trundle off to the docs again.
Thanks
Rolsten

Hi Selma,
thanks for your message and advice, its common sense I know to be careful with ones health, and will be seeking further medical examinations in the not to distant future.
just to enlighten you a little more on symptoms which I forgot to mention in my post.
I do not get breathlessness,I feel as though I need to swallow the constant obstruction in the throat, albeit not huge,I guess it is the acid causing this.rash type sensation.
I have no problem when swallowing chewed food.sometimes get intense pain immediately after eating a meal, but thats only recently.I do not get pain when in bed at rest, only a slight burning feeling.
I take omeprazole capsules, started with one each day on an empty stomach as presvribed, some brands are good, others are not,I have increased the dosage to 40mg from 20mg and that seems to be working for the time being.
Today I began working, digging the footings for my resort style chalet, which I am building, with no pain, then as soon as I start exerting myself, wallop,.I get the intense pain which subsides after a few minutes, particularly if I bend down.
I don't drink beer at all, that is asking for trouble, sometimes have a little whisky,as its said alcohol in  moderation is good for the circulation.
Incidentally my BP is normal, probably due to not eating salt, margarine, butter,or animal fat,( which I did enjoy)up until 30 years ago, which was the time I stopped, having been told by surgeons that the above was the main cause of gallstone problems, which my mother suffered with.
Hope what Ive told you will be of help to yourself in some way, just to add a little more,i do get relief from the pain occasionally by controlling my diet, foolishly I indulge in forbidden fruits as they say.
This site is a fantastic find for me,as yesterday was a real bad day pain wise, prompting me to search for any solution to it,plus I like many others do not rely on Drs supposed diagnosis, and surgery is not always successful either.
Therefore I find seeking info from fellow suffers satisfies my mind at the moment.
Thanks again
Rolsten

Hi Rolsten,

I have included a deff of Osesophagitis for those reading this that may not be familiar with the term.

I have gotten the pain, that I thought it was angina as well, but I am not sure it is the same as what u described.

Since, Osesophagitis can be bacterial, were u given an antibiotic?are u on meds?

Trundle off to the drs....ur health is too important to wonder what it could be.....we are here for support, so please continue to post ur concerns and questions.
