Hi Dr.
Wondering if balloon sinuplasty is recommended for this type of sinus issue as well?
I have heard good things about the procedure and still trying to learn more.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in. Maxillary sinus retention cyst is an incidental finding on radiographs which is located on the floor of the maxillary sinus. Usually they are asymptomatic and do not require any treatment, but if they exhibit symptoms like infection of the cyst, pressure or pain or loss of sensation in the cheek, pain in the teeth, pressure in the eye or obstruction of natural pathways of drainage of this sinus require surgical repair.
Consult a neurosurgeon and ENT specialist for further information on this.
Best.
