Doctor adviced a pace maker for him, after doing EKG which was NORMAL,angography NORMAL.

Please don't wait!  He needs this to save his life.  My grandfather almost lost his before getting his pacemaker.  The only symton, IF ANY, can be the low BPM.  Your father's is WAY TO LOW FOR HIS AGE.  You can verifiy this by going to the Mayo Clinic website and look up low blood bpm and it will give you an article on this or look it up on google and it will give you some other articles.

Does you father have Roemheld Syndrome? If so, he would have all of the symptoms of that disorder as well, not just the hernia and bradycardia. Is there a reason you are so nervous about your father having this simple procedure done; something that could save his life?

You can have a normal EKG and still need a pacemaker. The RATE on the EKG would be the determining factor. His EKG being normal means that he hasn't had a heart attack, his heart structure is okay, things like that. If his heart rate is 'GOING UP TO 45 beats per minute, (normal heart rate is 60-100bpm with a mean of 72 for men) that's too slow and therefore your father isn't getting enough oxygen to his brain and other body organs, that is why he's short of breath. If he's awake with a low heart rate, where do you think his heart rate is when he's asleep?? If it's in the 30s, his heart could simply stop beating. He needs to have the pacemaker implanted. A doctor isn't having that done for the fun of it, he needs it or the doctor would not be telling him to have it done.

Has he wore a 24 hour heart monitor? That would give you a good indication of what his heart is doing. I have a pacemaker and had quite a few tests first but I am 36.
