You should see a cardiologist, and getsome testing echo stress, etc. to see if there is a blockage. Also The blood vessels act like a coffee filter that filters the blood before it returns to the heart. It is very hard to determine how these smaller vessels are affected by blockage. My wife suffers from the same problem. She has had a 600 cholestrol her whole life[67] with no plaque buildup, low blood presssure , but high pulse rate, and has swelling of the feet. Mayo wanted to pay her for study.
I was in a heart hospital admitted from the ER twice in the last two weeks with extremely high blood pressure, and chest pain. After a two day stay of bed rest it returned to normal, and then dropped below normal, and they cut back the blood pressure medicine I was taking for years. I had stopped a diuretic a week before, and in two days I dropped 10 pounds of fluid[it should have been the other way around] The cardiologist ran a multitude of tests, and all were normal. He said every test in the world wouln't show some blocked arteries on the back of the heart except a heart catherization, in which they feared , me having several surgeries this year already ,unrelated to the heart.I have acute hypertension, in which stress/anxiety can make it soar to 200/140. Also pain factors in, diet -high sodium-overweight, and other factors. I couldn't believe that stress could do that. I now though have other problems with a heavy beating in my chest like my heart is plowing 2 feet of snow. I had a knee replacement that went bad, and wound up in a nursing home for 3 months and a hospital rehab for 1 month with pain/paralysis. They couldn't find an explanation, but now I am thinking it could be cardiovascular, like a damaged artery/ or scar tissue semi blocking the blood flow, because when I walk or exercise my pressure soars, and the pain is unbearable. Now your really confused. I wondered why the heart beats hard as well! Thanks , Robert
My heart rate beats frequently at 100 or over. I have no major symptoms (other than awareness of it beating fast) until it reaches about 130. Then, I start feeling somewhat short of breath and when it reaches 160, I am extremely out of breath. At 160, I have a hard time walking around the house while breathing heavily. I will be 45 this Saturday and take no medications. I have had problems all of my life with rapid heart beat on occasions. When my heart starts beating fast it continues on and off for weeks, then returns back to normal of around 68 to 80. My doctors told me it was an adrenaline issue, where something like exercise, black licorce, or caffeine sets it off. Sometimes my heart races for 48 hours, which is totally exhausting (takes about 2 days to rest afterwards). Suddenly drop in blood pressure can cause dizziness or lightheadness. When you get up in the mornings, make sure that you sit on the edge of your bed for a few minutes so that your blood pressure adjusts. Most heart attacks happen in the morning when getting up from bed. Hope you start feeling better soon. Take care.
You should have a medication review with your doctor. Let your doctor know of your symptoms. You may not be taking time released medication, which you may need now.
