Fish High in Mercury

Fish High in Mercury

Methyl mercury can harm your baby’s developing brain as well as its nervous system. So, when fish is on the menu, steer clear of swordfish, tilefish, shark, kingfish, king mackerel, marlin and orange roughy, which are all fish high in mercury. Don’t cut fish entirely out of your diet, though — other species can actually help. Just limit consumption to less than 12 ounces per week, about two or three servings (white albacore tuna has a special limit of just 6 ounces per week).
