Weight Loss Challenge

Today is very exciting because the weight loss challenge that I started for our community, which has so far 50 people signed up, starts today!!!!!!! We have had a lot of people asking for a weight loss support system so this is what we came up with. Its a challenge to lose 10 lbs in 10 weeks. We are focusing on healthy weight loss goals of 1-2 per week. Those who meet their individual weight loss goal will be a challenge winner and receive a small prize. We have weekly weigh ins with meetings/discussion and education after the weigh ins. After the initial 10 weeks, there is a 2 month follow up to see you has kept off the most % body weight. There will be a male and female winner of a $250 gift certificates to a sportwear store!! Lots of people talking about it and I am very excited to be able to hopefully help so many people reach healthy and achievable goals!!

Changing rest day

Jan 11, 2011 - 0 comments

Im switching my eliptical resting day to Tuesdays now because I lead a snowshoeing/ski group during lunch and have our basketball games on Tuesday nights as well. This way I'll still have my rest day but have some physical activity throughout the week

Day of Rest

I decided today was my resting day for the eliptical. My legs were jello during basketball last night night and my joints were very achy this morning. They usually are not like that during games. I sill got up at the same time so that I wouldn't change my sleeping patterns. I wanted to give my legs a little rest so that I don't burn out when I just started. We will be all set to continue tomorrow morning!!!

Weight Loss

Today was the first day of my new exercise routine. I just bought an eliptical in order for me to ensure I can get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. As I grow stronger with my 30 minute cardio routine in the morning, I will add sit ups, push ups, tricep dips, and so on. I am currently taking courses to be an EMT which takes up all of my Mondays and Wednesdays, and I can no longer use this as an excuse with the eliptical at the apartment.  It is important to me to be in great shape before I become a Personal Tainer. People don't want to be told what to do by someone who could use some more exercise as well. In addition, I just feel over all better when I work out and happier. I have wanted to get back down to 155, 13 lbs to lose. This would put be back in a  healthy BMI range as well increase my confidence. I think that it would benefit me along with my future clients for me to journal my experience as well.

So far today, 27 minutes on the eliptical at 6:30AM followed by 10 minutes of stretching
Tomorrow will be 30 minutes on the eliptial 6:15 (shoulda woke up earlier today) as well as a basketball game at night that will last for about 1 hr.
